Now that we finally finished painting the kitchen, we are moving on to the next project. It was going to be the bathroom floors but now we have decided to go ahead and tackle the kitchen counter tops/back splash to finish this room off. After spending two days in Lowes, we have all of our supplies and the construction has begun. Last night, Clint put in lights under our cabinets which will glow beautifully off of our black granite tiles that will be our new counter tops and back splash. Today I spent the afternoon sanding our existing counter tops and ripping off the back splash. I was pretty proud of myself! Tonight we will take the sink out and begin tiling. I can not wait... it is going to look amazing!

Any advice about ripping off the backsplash? Those little colonial people have got to go!
ours was just a bit of the laminate continued up the wall... what you could do is the next time Andy ticks you off take it out with the colonial people and a sledge hammer :)
