Celebrating the 4th

This whole weekend was spent celebrating the 4th of July, that is in between various members of my family getting sick. The celebration start out at the Long family's home on Friday night for a cookout with many friends. Poor Tim got drenched working the grill but we all appreciated his perseverance to get the meat just perfect. It was excellent! Since we all have small children and we were all pretty confident that just as we got there it would start raining, we decided to skip the 20 minute walk to watch the fireworks. We thought it would be best to stay, eat dessert, and watch the DC fireworks on tv. Thanks to the Longs for sharing your home with us!
On Saturday half of my family (the other half was sick) went out to the Davis' 4th annual July 4th cookout. It is always a blast! We swim in the lake, the kids play in the yard, we eat and eat and eat some more. It is great! This year was extremely good because the Pillar peeps got to hang out with some of Lakeside peeps. For some, this was the first time to connect faces with names and that was really fun to watch/be apart of. Davis' thanks for throwing, yet another, excellent cookout!
