A mini vacation

Wednesday after dropping Nan off at the airport we began our mini vacation. We stayed at Westmoreland State Park with two families that are very dear friends of ours, the Pelts and the Davis'. The original plan was we would be staying altogether in this huge cabin but upon arrival and check in we quickly realized that something had gotten mixed up with our reservations. Someone else was in the cabin we were suppose to be in and they were not leaving til Friday. Even though the park ranger was not kind at all, they were able to find us three seperate cabins that were very close to each other so we gladly accepted them and made the best of the situation. Thursday was packed full of adventures in true Jason Pelt style. First thing after an amazing Davis breakfast we hiked down to Fossil Beach to hunt/dig for shark teeth. On the hike back, the kids put on a show-n-tell so we all could see the treasures they had found along the way. We made it back to the cabins just in time for a lunch cookout at our cabin then it was off to George Washington's birthplace. Once the kids had absorbed all they could about President Washington's place and were tired from chasing the sheep all over the plantation, we went back to the camp ground for a game of kickball. We stopped by our cabin to pick up snacks for during the game and that is when it happened... out of no where the truck decided to not crank. Seriously, didn't we just go through this last week with the van! While the kids and I played kickball, Clint borrowed Dreams ( the Pelt's van) to go get a new battery. By the time Tracee's wonderful dinner rolled around the kids were completely nasty and exhausted. Friday everyone was bummed to leave each other. We all had a great time hanging out and catching up! Can't wait till next year!
